3IBA Paper I

Source A
Source B

There has been some general concern lately about the papers that have been given in class. Therefore, today's assessment is not about preparing for the exam, but incorporating TOK into historiography.

These images are outside the scope of our study but provide an excellent opportunity for comparison and contrast. Both sources are from The Economist.

1. (a) What, according to Source B, are the roots and causes of America's current economic situation?
(b) What is the message conveyed by Source A?
[3 marks]
[2 marks]
2. Compare and contrast the views expressed in Sources A and B about the economic status of the United States. [6 marks]
3. With reference to their origin and purpose, assess the value and limitations of Source A
and Source B for historians and economists studying the world's latest financial crisis. [6 marks]
4. Using the sources and your own knowledge, assess the reasons why the United States remains one of the world's richest nations while also one with enormous economic problems.

Denmark Trip

It's been announced that the exams are now the week AFTER the trip, not before. In the interest of studying, the trip to Denmark is officially cancelled.

We tried! Good luck with the exams.

2IBA Practice Question - Paper 2

1. Analyze the long-term and short-term causes of the 1917 February/March Russian Revolution.

DO NOT use your notes, the Internet or other assistance. In 45 minutes, write a well-constructed essay, analyzing (not narrating) the topic.

How to write the IA

This is a fantastic evaluation of how to construct and what to consider in the IA. HoweverLINK TO IA EVALUATION, DO NOT add too much detail that should be added to paper to footnoting (or endnotes, if that's what you choose) to get around the word-count.

Most importantly, you must be consistent. ALSO, YOU CAN ONLY INCLUDE SOURCES IN YOUR BIBLIOGRAPHY THAT WERE CITED IN YOUR PAPER.
